I am Sarah Richards.
I am a Hawkesbury City Councillor and the local Liberal Team Leader.
There has never been a more important time to ensure that the Hawkesbury is represented by a dedicated, proven and committed local Liberal.
I take my community leadership role very seriously.
For me, my children and my community are everything. Working for others has been a great privilege in my life.
I see my civil representation of the Hawkesbury as an exciting way to continue to help others locally and to contribute to the Liberal message at all levels.
I believe politics is all about public service and I am ready to continue my contribution to the Hawkesbury community.
In the first half of 2019, we will see a State and Federal Election. It is important that all Liberal Party Members work together to ensure we keep government and the country moving forward.
We cannot allow a return to the Union backed policies of Carr, Rudd, GIllard, Hawke and Whitlam.
If you are a Liberal Party Member and want to talk about my vision for the future of the Hawkesbury and our party, please contact me for a private chat.
I have lived in the Hawkesbury and have been deeply embedded in this community since I was 10 years old.
I often say that the Hawkesbury is one degree of separation and my wide local connections will serve us well in promoting the NSW Liberal message over the coming months.
My large family and friendship group is spread throughout the Hawkesbury. My parents, siblings, children, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends are found in all our local schools, businesses, community groups and networks.
It was my parents that instilled in me a spirit of community service and a sense of civic responsibility. That is why I have been so invested in the Hawkesbury community for so many years.
Just some of the examples of my community involvement include:
· Current Hawkesbury City Councillor
· Current Council delegate to Hawkesbury Sports Council
· Current Director – Windsor RSL
· Current Secretary – Hawkesbury Torch Bearers for Legacy
· Current Member – Hawkesbury Hospital Community Board of Advice
· Current Board member - Hawkesbury Visitor Economic Advisory Board
· Current Committee Member – 2018 Hawkesbury Relay for Life
· Current Member of Rotary Club of Kurrajong / North Richmond
I have always been a loyal Liberal, having served in various leadership and support roles in local branches and conferences. I have also run in Federal elections in hard luck positions, simply to help our campaign effort.
I did these things because of my belief in our Liberal message – that communities are built through volunteers and that individuals should be willing to stand up and advocate for what needs to be done for our region, our state and our country.
